Position Overview

The Development Intern provides administrative, database, and communications support to the Development Team. This is a great opportunity to work in all aspects of event and membership-based fundraising, for a worthy and complex cause. The Development Intern works as part of the Development team, in collaboration with the Director of Development, Director of Communications, and Development Associate.

Key Tasks
o Database entry, updates and corrections
o Assist with mailings
o Assist with Major Donor research
o Work with Development Team to plan and implement special events
o Provide support to all aspects of each event, including registration, materials, & promotion
o Collaborate on planning of Anniversary Dinner (large-scale fundraising event) & other membership events

o Some experience with databases
o Excellent writing, verbal, analytical, and computer skills
o Superb organizational skills and attention to detail
o Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
o Entrepreneurial approach to working in an environment with limited resources,
flexibility, and a sense of humor
o Experience in the legal community and/or marketing is a plus

Reports to: Development Director

Compensation: This is an unpaid position; College credit available.

Hours: 10 – 20 hours/week, with the flexible hours
