Arizona’s weak gun safety laws put its residents at risk. State lawmakers have an obligation to act—immediately—to protect their communities from gun violence.

Arizona repealed its concealed weapons permitting requirement in 2010, allowing anyone 21 or over to carry a hidden, loaded firearm in public without a license. In 2021, Arizona had the eighteenth highest gun death rate among the states. Arizona also supplied crime guns to other states at the fifth highest rate among the states. Arizona exported crime guns at nearly 2.6 times the national rate and 4 times the rate it imported from guns from other states.
